Obituary

Cheryl Myers Starnes, of Raleigh, a loving mother of three children and grandmother to five, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at age 70.
Cheryl was born September 19, 1950 in San Diego, CA and graduated from Millington High School in Millington, TN in 1968. Cheryl earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University in 1972 and began a 30 plus year career in the field of elementary education, primarily in Havelock, North Carolina. Her lifelong passion for enriching the lives of young children was infectious and she felt it her calling to make each child feel special and loved.

Hughes, son Jacob R. Starnes, brother Gregory R. Myers, brother David B. Myers, and grandchildren Brianna M. Tilley, Davis J. Tilley, Braden J. Starnes, Gavin M. Starnes, and Easton C. Hughes.

I’m so sad to hear of Cheryl’s death. She and I were roommates at MTSU. We were quite goofy together along with ten other girls. She was silly and very special to all of us! I would like to send a picture
of her to you and get Greg’s contact information.
We will always love Cheryl!!

Jacob, Jennifer, and Jessica I am
So sorry for your loss. Cheryl was very special to us at HES and later at WJG. If I had to be out of my classroom I knew my students would be in good hands if your mom was my sub. I considered her a friend as well as my best substitute teacher. I know you will miss her terribly in the days to come but I also know you have wonderful memories of her as well. Love & prayers for all
Of you
Hilda Corey
