Lewis S. Mullican, 58, died at his home in Oxford, NC on Friday night.
He is survived by his wife, friend, and partner of 32 years, Linda Mullican; her son, Joey Mills and his wife, Emily, and grandchildren, Landin and Chase; by his mother, Diane Coleman and her husband, Joe, of Hickory, NC; by his sister, Charissa Loftin, her husband, Steve, and their daughter, Jadyn, of Winston-Salem, NC; and by his particular friend, Reid Hardin, of Durham, ME, whom he considered a brother.
Lewis had many varied interests, including ice climbing, sailing, and the novels of Patrick O’Brian, but his passion was for fly fishing and he spent many meticulous hours handcrafting beautiful flies for that pursuit. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Triangle Fly Fishers. He was a funny, smart, kind, generous, loyal man with a great heart and he will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. His ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean which he loved so much.
